A swimming Pool Mural is a painted design inside of a pool, but a Pool Wall Mural is outside of a pool, on an adjacent wall or fence.
I’ve talked all about planning, prepping and painting pool murals before, but today we look at pool wall mural ideas.
There’s amazing possibilities, as these 21 pool owners below demonstrate – and because pool wall or fence murals are not underwater, it’s easier, cheaper and lasts longer than pool murals.
Pool Wall Murals
These are great pool wall murals and pool fence mural ideas. You may have a muralist in your area who can help, just search online for a wall muralist near me, or visit findamuralist.com to get started!
Hi,
I am looking for some advice. I am about to paint a wooden wall in a very humid indoor swimming pool room. It’s for a childrens’ charity.
Can you please advise me on what type of paint/ primer is best for this purpose?
Many thanks,
Pauline.
Hi Pauline, for an indoor pool humidity is a problem, as you mention. Be sure the pool is able to dry out before and after painting, if possible by opening all doors, setting up large fans and turning off the pool heater (if possible). I have never painted a wall of an indoor pool, but from my short research, you would want to use a Vapor Retardant Barrier paint as the primer (2 coats), and then use a Latex paint on top. I really don’t know more specifics about that, but there are paints and primers available for high humidity or wet conditions. Perhaps pool paint would be a suitable top coat, but there may be a better paint to use – ask your local paint dealer if the internet produces no clear answer.
